Lecce (LE)
La rusciulara is an eleven-hectare farm on the outskirts of Lecce, a few kilometres from the city towards San Cataldo. The estate's roots go back to the early twentieth century. The turning point came when Francesco de Giorgi and his partner Giulia Giacobbe left the city to breathe new life into the family farm — starting with a small vegetable garden and home deliveries, a simple, almost militant act that set a renaissance in motion.
Production centres on seasonal vegetables grown directly by the family. From the masseria's wood-fired oven come bread and frise made with ancient grains stone-ground on site — a coherent, closed supply chain. The farm is part of the Salento Km0 network and sells directly at the farm, at weekly markets, and through local deliveries. La rusciulara is also a living place: it hosts events, a children's farm, and, through the food truck "La Rusciulotte", brings the estate's produce to the wider territory.
